Can Different Policies Apply to Security Groups in a Parent-Child Relationship?

Yes, different policies can apply to security groups in a parent-child relationship within the hierarchical structure of Security Groups. Each group can have its own distinct policy, and the child group does not inherit the parent group’s policy by default. This behavior is similar to the Organizational Unit (OU) structure for Google Workspace users.

*Ensure that you do not have more than one group with the same name. If you do, all groups with that name will be assigned the same policy, and you cannot assign different policies to each of them.
