How do I import or add users into Securly Pass?
There are two ways to get users (students and staff) into Securly Pass. The recommended approach is to roster users automatically from your existing source. A manual CSV user file upload is available as a fallback for users who are not covered by a rostering integration.
Recommended: automatic rostering
Roster users into Pass automatically using one of the supported integrations:
- Securly Sync
- ClassLink
- Clever
With a rostering integration, user accounts are created and kept up to date automatically from your source system. Note that when a user is rostered from Securly Sync or a third party (ClassLink, Clever, etc.), edits made directly in Pass will revert on the next sync, so changes should be made at the source.
Fallback: CSV user file upload
If a user is not shared from Securly Sync or a third party (ClassLink, Clever, etc.), an Admin can create accounts by uploading a CSV user file. This is a valid, supported method, but it is intended as the manual fallback for users a rostering integration does not cover — it is not the preferred way to roster an entire district. See “Creating a CSV User File” for the required file format.
Which method should I use?
Prefer a rostering integration (Securly Sync, ClassLink, or Clever) whenever possible, and use CSV upload only for users those integrations do not cover. If you are not sure which method fits your district, your Securly Implementation Engineer can help you choose and set up the right rostering integration.
