Individual Detention on a Rung of the Consequence Ladder
Schools can build their ladders for either LTS, LTC, or both LTS/LTC combined.
To build each step/rung of your school’s consequence ladder, click on Tardy Settings > Consequences Ladder, and then click on “+ Ladder” in the upper right corner of the screen.

The pop-up allows you to choose which type of ladder you are building - “LTC”, “LTS”, or “Combined (LTS & LTC)”. You will also choose the date on which the consequence ladder will reset. This could be the end of the month, marking period, or school year. You can edit this date throughout the year, if need be.

Once you choose the ladder type, you can use the blue “+” button to build each step/rung.

Once you’ve selected the ladder, you will add your first step. You can choose from “Free”, “APT”, or any other detention that you have created. When finished with your first consequence, click on “Submit”.

“Free” - means there is no consequence involved for that infraction step. If the first two times a student is late to class and they just get a verbal warning from the teacher, this would be considered a “Free” action.
“APT” indicates that an Appointment will be scheduled for this student.
PLEASE NOTE: The school Admins will be able to see the list of students who have hit the Action of “APT” each day. They can then utilize Pass to set up an appointment for the student to the correct adult within the school. This list can also be used to inform parents of the upcoming appointment.
Once you’ve built your Consequence Ladder, you can easily add rungs to the ladder or edit the rungs of the ladder.
To add a rung to your Consequence ladder, click on Tardy Settings > Consequence Ladder and choose the ladder to which you want to add a rung.

Click on the blue “+” on the right side of the screen.

On the popup screen, add your “Infractions Step” and “Action”. Click in the Infraction Step box and add the Step # and then click in the Actions box to select the detention. To delete an infraction step, click on the three (3) dots under the Action column and choose Delete.

Remember to click on “Submit” when you are finished adjusting or editing your Consequence Ladder. Another popup window will appear, asking if you are sure you want to proceed. Click “Confirm”.

Any detention the school has built that is used as a step on the ladder will have an automatic appointment pass created for the student involved. The Appointment pass will be from “system” to the location of the detention at the start time of the detention.
The student will be assigned based on when those detentions have been set up by the Detention Calendar and based on max capacity for each one. If a student is assigned “Lunch detention” and it is scheduled on the 2nd, 4th, and 8th of the month and the max capacity has been reached for the 2nd and the 4th, this student will be assigned to the detention that is running on the 8th of the month.
When a student has reached the top rung on the Consequence Ladder, you will get a message on your Dashboard stating that “Student(s) have exceeded your Consequence Ladder.”

You can address this two ways - either add more consequences to your ladder and/or adjust the date on which the consequence ladder is reset.
