Pass / Classroom Integration User Guide
To enable Pass integration in Classroom, on the left side of the screen, click Settings → Systems → scroll down to Integrations, and check the box “Enable Securly Pass integration”. Click “Save” in the upper right corner when finished.
Once enabled, the Pass logo will be displayed in the bottom right corner.
This integration will be available to all users who have an account in both Classroom and Pass with the same email address.
A student requesting to leave the classroom will still do that from Pass. They will follow the steps to choose the “Departing from” and “Destination” for their pass request.
If the teacher they are departing from has Classroom open, they will receive a pop-up allowing them to Approve or Cancel the request.
If the teacher does not interact with the pop-up, they will see a red dot to indicate that there is a pass in the Pass Notification Center that they can choose to act upon.
In the Pass Notification Center teachers can view the request details and cancel or approve the Pass.
A teacher who has a student coming to see them on a pass will see additional check-in options.
For a student who is out on a pass, the teacher will see a badge on that student's card (Classroom Card view).
Clicking on the badge will display the details and allow interaction with the pass.
If the pass was an Auto Pass, there will be a letter “A” to indicate that a student started their own pass with the Auto Pass functionality.
An Appointment Pass will pop up as a pass notification five (5) minutes prior to the appointment, just like on the Pass dashboard.
The colors coordinate with the same colors as in Pass - GREEN if the pass is still within the time threshold, YELLOW if the pass has crossed over to a “long running” pass (based on school settings).
When you start your class, you can see which students are out on a pass. You could decide then, based on the pass information, to include or not include them in your class.
Helpful reminders:
User’s emails must match in Pass and Classroom for the integration to work.
The pop-up notification will only appear on the "from" teacher's Classroom screen when the student requests a pass.
After the pass is APPROVED, a pop-up notification will appear on the "To" teacher's Classroom screen, indicating that the student is on his way.
The teacher who is running a class can see the Pass badge for any of their students on a pass whether that teacher is involved with the pass or not.
If a user is mocking in as another user, they will NOT see the notifications for that adult.
If an adult tries to interact with a pass and receives the “Pass failure” notification, that user does not have a matching email in the Pass system.
