How do I block Mac Applications?
Securly Classroom macOS Agent version 1.1.1.5 introduces a limited version of Application Blocking.
Pre-UI Application Blocking System
While the full interface will be released soon, for those wishing to try the functionality now, we have introduced an interim system to facilitate application blocking on macOS.
We have identified a limited list of the most allowed and blocked applications on macOS and allowed for them to be allowed or blocked by selecting them in the “Windows apps” section in Access Plans. When you select these apps, they will be blocked or allowed on both macOS and Windows.
The Securly Classroom macOS Agent recognizes the Windows app name and will activate blocking or allowance of the equivalent application on Mac, mimicking the functionality of the full application access plan. This temporary solution will be in place until the full macOS application blocking UI is available.
Example Use Case
If a teacher finds Roblox distracting, they can add the Windows App "Roblox" to an access plan using the Block-only workflow. Alternatively, adding the same Windows App to Allow-only plan will allow only that application, blocking all others.

Only the below listed apps will work currently with the access plans. In the future, the list will be much larger.
