    Pass › Visitor

Does Securly Sync bring guardian and parent-student information into Pass, Home, and Aware, or do I still need flat files?

Short answer: It depends on the product, and for Pass (Securly Visitor), guardian and student information does not come from Securly Sync at all. Do not assume that Securly Sync replaces flat files for every product.

Pass (Visitor): the Guardian/Student Matrix is a stand-alone file

Securly Pass does not receive guardian/student relationships from Securly Sync. The file that matches guardians with their students for Visitor pick up and drop off, the Guardian/Student Matrix, is a stand-alone file that your school provides separately. Do not tell a customer that connecting Securly Sync will bring in their guardian or parent information for Pass.

You have two ways to provide the matrix:

    • SFTP — an individual school file (one file for one school) or a district file (one file for multiple schools).
    • Manual CSV upload in the Pass system.

Student users need to already be provisioned in Pass before you upload the matrix (check Users > Main Users). At check-in the visitor's name must match the matrix exactly, so a nickname such as “Bob” for “Robert” results in a Denied status. The full steps, sample file, and column requirements are in the Visitor Guardian/Student Matrix guide.

    Home and Aware

This article covers the Pass correction only. Home and Aware each have their own setup guides for how parent and student information is provided, so use those guides for those products and do not carry the Pass answer over to them (or Home's Securly Sync option over to Pass).

    How to answer a customer

    • Pass: guardian/student data is a separate matrix file (SFTP or manual CSV), not something Securly Sync supplies.
    • Home and Aware: answer from each product's own setup guide.
