Understanding license counts for apps in Apple School Manager

Apple School Manager (ASM) has updated its approach to managing license counts for free applications.

As of October 22, 2026, ASM no longer requires an exact count of licenses for free apps. Instead, a random number is now assigned to the license count for these applications.
